Hello,
I just bought 1984 yamaha XJ 750R, the motorcycle specialist cleaned the carburator, now it is runing perfectly for rpm 1000, but after i ride it for over an hour and it warms up, the rpm goes up to 3000 and stay between 2500 and 3000, if i shut it off for an hour and start it again, it will goes back to 1000 rpm.
anyone would know what the problem could be?
thanks
JAY

Idle is adjusted too high. Turn it back down when warm so it idles no higher than 1500. (It's the thumbscrew behind the carbs in the middle.) Use the enrichment lever (choke) to keep it running until it warms up. Right now, your high idle speed is keeping it running when cold, then it's too high after the engine warms up. Make sense?
